Arlington Heights needs a mayor who will promote business and take a fresh look at controlling expenses. Ron Drake is the person who has the experience to do that.

He is the only candidate who has actually been a mayor (for six years in another state).

His primary opponent, Tom Hayes, is a longtime village trustee whose main claim to fame is opposing gambling and hurting the chances of Arlington Park getting slots. While everyone is entitled to their own religious beliefs, I wonder where Tom was when the state allowed up to 45,000 slots to be built in Illinois while Arlington Heights was denied the financial benefit that slots would bring to the village.

Tom has a long record of anti-racetrack public statements and votes on the board. He has let his religious beliefs prevent Arlington Heights from getting new revenue.

Putting your own interests over that of the citizens you are supposed to represent is not responsible government.

Ron Drake is the obvious choice for fair-minded voters. He will need your strong support to break into the close fraternity of Arlington Heights politics.

Even though I now live in Mount Prospect, my home will always be Arlington Heights where my family lived for many years. Support Ron Drake!
