Yard Waste Pick Up, Electronic Recycling Drop Off Resume April 1

The yard waste program resumes the first week of April on the regular garbage collection day. Cans and bags filled with yard waste (grass clippings, leaves, small twigs or branches, and plant materials) must have green yard waste stickers on them. These stickers may be purchased at the Village Hall and at the following locations: Jewel (Lombard & Villa Park), Schroeders Ace Hardware in the Eastgate shopping center and West Suburban Bank.

Brush is defined as limbs or branches from trees, shrubs or bushes. Bundles of brush must be tied; not exceeding six feet in length or 18 inches in diameter, and not exceeding 50 pounds each. Also, no individual branch or limb can exceed six inches in diameter. Properly bundled brush does not require a sticker. Brush that is placed at the curbside and securely tied, and yard waste that is properly stickered, will be collected on the scheduled garbage collection day.

Electronics are prohibited from landfills per State law. The Village hosts an electronics recycling drop off on the first Saturday of each month beginning in April through November. The location of the free e-recycling drop off is the commuter parking lot on Main Street & Parkside and the drop off hours are 9 a.m.-noon. Computer components, office equipment, and audio/video items are no longer accepted at the curbside and must be recycled.

Any questions regarding either of these programs may be directed to the Village of Lombard Public Works Department at (630) 620-5740.
