Stretching out debt is no solution

Each candidate in every local race must have as a first principle that it is taxpayers’ money that is used to run government, Too many times I see statements like “we haven’t increased your tax rate” when more revenue is obtained because a person’s EAV went up. Too many times I see debt financing extended further into the future with new issues under the that rubric. Debt service dollars are given to the issuer temporarily and need to be “returned” at the earliest possible date. Taxing bodies have no God-given right to use money forever.
