Gurnee mayor deserves re-election

The mayor of Gurnee is running for re-election. Mayor Kovarik has been the mayor for the past eight years and has demonstrated strong financial leadership.

As a resident of Gurnee for the past 20 years, I am aware of the many positive achievements that have occurred during Kovarik’s tenure.

One of her significant achievements is to maintain a balanced budget while having no property tax to cover expenses such as police, fire, and road maintenance. This is no easy endeavor given that the prices for essential services have risen.

An example of a recent success is the village attracted Macy’s to invest and move into Gurnee Mills which is a big accomplishment that the Mayor negotiated expertly. This win, along with the many other businesses, is very positive for Gurnee residents.

I applaud the Daily Herald for your keen endorsement of Kristina Kovarik for mayor, and I will definitely be voting for Kovarik for mayor and strongly urge voters to do the same.
