Neuqua Valley 11, St. Benedict Academy (Tenn.) 6:

The Wildcats got their offense going in a season-opening victory in Memphis, Tenn. Jeff Evak doubled, homered and drove in 2 runs while Alex Wolanski went 3-for-4 with 3 RBI. Drew Sterioti and Cody Coll drove in 2 runs apiece. David Gerber pitched 4-plus innings to notch the win. Matt Butler and Andy Sommers finished it off on the mound.

Brophy College Prep (Ariz.) 5, Downers South 0:

Downers South (0-1) and starting pitcher Brian Glowicki kept the game scoreless through four innings before Brophy scored once in the fifth and sixth innings. Brophy added 3 runs in the top of the seventh. The Mustangs managed only 4 hits in their season-opening game in Arizona.
