• Andrew J. Williams, 24, of the 0-100 block of Middlesex Court, Carpentersville, was arrested about 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Dundee and Algona avenues and charged with felony possession of a firearm, possession of a firearm by a gang member, and two counts of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, according to a police report. Williams was a passenger in a car that was stopped by police for a loud muffler and improper lane usage, according to reports. A search of the vehicle yielded a .25-caliber semiautomatic pistol loaded with five bullets that Williams said he bought for $100 in Carpentersville, police said.

• Salomon P. Cabrera, 37, of the 1600 block of Mulberry Avenue, was charged with three counts of aggravated DUI and driving without a valid driver's license, police said. He is accused of running a traffic light just before 10 p.m. Friday at Larkin Avenue and McLean Boulevard and striking another vehicle, injuring the other driver, according to a police report. A blood test showed Cabrera's blood alcohol level was .246, police said.

• Jose Diaz, 17, of the 600 block of Wing Street, Elgin, and Tory Boynton, 18, of the 300 block of McClure, Elgin, have been charged with armed robbery, according to a police report. Diaz and Boynton are accused of robbing a man from whom they were going to buy marijuana in the 300 block of Silver Street on Thursday, police said. Bail for Diaz and Boynton was set at $100,000 each in Kane County bond court. They are both due in court April 4.
