Bartlett Police Department honors two employees

The Bartlett Police Department has named the recipients of its 2012 Police Officer of the Year and 2012 Civilian Employee of the Year awards.

Officer Robert Sweeney was picked as police officer of the year. He has been a member of the department for the past eight years and was recognized by the police administration and his peers for exhibiting a positive image. He received the department’s employee of the month award in January and November 2012, and in the last year provided Bartlett High School students, Bartlett Park District staff, Clare Oaks residents and the Hanover Township TRIAD with traffic-related presentations.

Records Clerk Susan Angelacos was the recipient of the 2012 civilian employee of the year award. She has been a member of the department for 15 years and was recognized for keeping the department’s records section running smoothly and efficiently while serving as the interim records supervisor while the department was in the process of hiring a new records supervisor. She is a past recipient of both the civilian employee of the year award and the department’s life saving award.
