Wants three new faces on D15 board

My name is Sue Quinn, and I’m a former District 15 school board member. Having served my community for four years and been a parent in the district for nine, I know the quality, temper and dedication of our school board members makes a difference in the financial health and educational excellence of our schools.

I’m endorsing Jennifer Zold, Donna Johnson and Matt Lyons for the District 15 school board in the upcoming April 9th election.

All three are non-incumbents to the school board, just as I was when I first ran. They have qualities that make for great school board members: financial common sense; passion for education and drive to better the operations of our schools so they can put children first.

Matt is chief information officer for a Chicago firm, with degrees in physics and computer engineering, a background that will serve him well in making complex decisions on the board. Donna holds a degree in finance and will bring a dedication to fiscal prudence that the district critically needs. And Jennifer is well-known for her previous instrumental efforts through the Citizens for Accountability in District 15 to coordinate a historical effort to bring a District 15 bond issue to the ballot where it could be decided by voters. Jennifer will be an outstanding advocate for children and financial accountability on the board.

Your vote always makes a difference, but even more so at the local level, where school board decisions directly impact how your taxes are spent to educate the children of your community. I encourage the citizens of District 15 to Vote 1-2-3 on the ballot for District 15 school board. My own children are in this district, and that’s where my vote will be.
