Can we be proud of being Americans?

What this nation needs is a leader, not a baby sitter or a parent. Our nation was built on freedom and individualism. We used to destroy our enemies. We conquered space, won the West and overcame a Depression. We were a people who held their heads up high, and we were proud to say “I am an American.”

Now we cower before our enemies and apologize for our actions. We stand in line for various government handouts.

When will this country produce a leader, not a politician? Instead of constantly running for office, why not have candidates who are interested in our nation and its future? Or as the candidates will tell us, “It will be worked out in the future,” or as Hillary Clinton once said, “Let’s talk.”

By the way, I am a citizen, a taxpayer and an American and proud of it!
