No one injured in DuPage County garage fire

No one was injured in an early morning garage fire near Downers Grove, authorities said.

Fire officials were called at 2:17 a.m. to a fire at a house on the 20W400 block of Rooke Court. Fire officials said a large amount of fire was coming from the garage. They extinguished the fire, then searched the adjoining house.

The three occupants of the home, and their pets, escaped prior to the arrival of firefighters, fire officials said, and no civilians or firefighters were injured.

Fire damage was contained to the garage, two vehicles, an adjoining family room, and the attic area, authorities said, and the home was deemed uninhabitable.

Cause of the fire is undetermined. No damage amount was given, but it was considered extensive.

Firefighters from Lisle-Woodridge, Downers Grove, and Pleasantview fire departments assisted at the scene, authorities said,
