Voters in Oakbrook Terrace's Ward 1 are fortunate to have two qualified candidates for city council. Both James Dvorak and Paul Esposito are longtime residents who seem to genuinely want to serve their community. Esposito brings his business and executive leadership experience to the table, but his resume of community involvement is light. Dvorak's resume lists a number of volunteer experiences, including leadership roles. He also articulates specific ideas for activities to better the village, such as improvements to the walking path between Terrace View Park and Drennon Park. For those reasons, we favor Dvorak.
