A three-member electoral board will convene Thursday in Island Lake to consider a renewed effort to prevent Charles Amrich from running for mayor. Activists Daniel Field and Louis Sharp last week filed a second formal objection to Amrich's candidacy. They successfully had him removed from the ballot last month, but he's applied to fill the vacancy created by his ineligibility. This time, Field and Sharp say Amrich's paperwork is incomplete, and they allege it's too late for him to fill the vacancy. Amrich hopes to challenge incumbent Mayor Debbie Herrmann in the April 9 election. The meeting is set for 11 a.m. at village hall, 3720 Greenleaf Ave.
