The DetermiNation program is a remarkable community of ordinary people who are doing extraordinary things. With professional training, the ultimate community of support, and inspiration every step of the way, the American Cancer Society can help you finish a half-marathon or marathon for your first time or your best time. And every step you take and every mile you conquer will help save lives and create more birthdays.
Whether you are a first time runner or a seasoned athlete, DetermiNation participants can meet the personal challenge of endurance events such as an 8k, 10 mile, half-marathon or marathon with access to free professional training, an unparalleled community of support and inspiration every step of the way.

American Cancer Society DetermiNation athletes help raise much-needed dollars to fund free services for those fighting cancer, discovery of new treatments and ultimately, cures.
In addition to the fulfillment of raising funds for the fight against cancer, DetermiNation participants also enjoy exclusive training and day-of-race benefits. These benefits include free team training to help achieve race goals, mentors for fundraising success and inspiration, invitations to social events, race-weekend VIP amenities (including gear check, private bathrooms, coaches along every mile of the race and much more), an exclusive DetermiNation racing singlet and a personal website to aid with fundraising.
