Another ratings record for Blackhawks

As the Blackhawks continue to add to their record streak on the ice, the broadcast coverage of the team continues to set records for its coverage as well.

To date, Comcast SportsNet officials report that 16 of the network’s 17 highest-rated regular-season Hawks games have occurred this season.

Thursday night the Blackhawks (17-0-3) delivered the team’s highest regular-season rating ever — a 7.54 household rating for its live coverage of the 3-0 road win over the St. Louis Blues.

The broadcast on Comcast SportsNet attracted approximately 262,754 households in the Chicago market for the entire game and posted a 9.35 “peak” rating during the 9:15 p.m. quarter-hour (326,000 households). The 7.54 rating broke the previous record set last week for the home game against Vancouver (7.41).

So far this season through 17 games, the Blackhawks on Comcast SportsNet are currently averaging a 5.18 household rating, an increase of 91 percent compared to last season through 17 telecasts.
