“This will be my first Gala with Holy Cross…It should be a blast! I've heard many great things about it and am excited to hit the ground running as Master of Ceremonies and Auctioneer. It will be a wonderful opportunity to come together as a community, celebrate our common faith, have a great time, eat excellent food and truly enjoy each other's company! As the new pastor it will be a great opportunity for me to get to know everyone and for everyone to get to know me in a fun and relaxed environment. I know God's blessings are on this night. This is the fruit of many committed people coming together for a celebration of our shared faith, love of God and love of one another.”

About Holy Cross Catholic Church

Tracing its roots to the first mass held in 1854, our parish serves over 3300 registered families from Batavia and surrounding communities. Currently, Holy Cross is a vibrant, active Catholic community dedicated to carrying out the mission of Jesus Christ in the world today. We are blessed to have so many families who work to continue this mission through prayer, education, service and stewardship. Our parish prayer life is centered on the sacraments, including daily Mass, confessions, and Adoration. All are welcome to join us in daily Mass! In addition, our praise and worship group and Bible study group are just two examples of prayer groups open to all community members.

The education programs at Holy Cross are far reaching, which includes serving over 1000 students in religious education programs and nearly 400 students at Holy Cross Catholic School (preschool through 8th grade.) Recognizing that education always continues, we also offer many adult education opportunities through our speakers' series, as well as seminars on topics ranging from Natural Family Planning to planning for a funeral …and everything in between.

Jesus came not to be served but to serve…and so do we. Holy Cross ministries serve many parish and community groups including Hessed House, the Batavia Interfaith Food Pantry, Batavia RSVP, Windmill Seniors, St. Vincent DePaul Society, the Giving Tree, Re-employment ministry, Enriching Lives Ministry, Hearing services for the Homebound, blood drives, Project Gabriel, St. Hilary Special Needs ministry, adoption ministry and much more! For all ages and all walks of life, Holy Cross is actively involved in serving our community.

St. Peter said, “As each has received as a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace…” (1 Peter 4:10). At Holy Cross, stewardship is not an option but a way of life. We recognize that the gifts we receive must be shared. A tithe from each weekly collection is sent to local and regional charitable organizations, including local food pantries, the St. Vincent DePaul Society, and area schools and parishes in need.

Your support of the Holy Cross parish gala – our only major fundraiser – will help us to fulfill this mission. Please consider supporting the Gala by purchasing tickets or by making a donation today.

Mass times can be found online at www.holycross-batavia.org or Telephone: 630-879-4750. Monsignor Aaron Brodeski, Pastor
