FLBA Club creates 'Meals For All'

Three girls from Wauconda High School have recently started a community program they call “Meals for All.”

Madison Hausherr Emily Brennan and Haley Proszek are members of a WHS club called Future Business Leaders of America. To compete at the state level, they were given a task to partner with businesses in the Wauconda area to somehow benefit the community. They partnered up with the Wauconda Moose Lodge to start a program in which anyone in need could come for a one dollar meal the third Wednesday of every month.

Thanks to the Wauconda Township senior citizen's transportation bus, Glenn Swanson and Lisa Iverson offer their service that will pick people up from places such as Harmony Village, Liberty Arms Senior Center and John Keuster Manor.

It has turned into a large social event. A recent Wednesday's dinner had about 40 people attend.

They have also gotten many other area businesses to join them and sponsor these dinners. Their current partners are Lindy's Landing, Dock's Sports Bar and Grill, Progressive Components, Wauconda Community Bank, Bulldog's Grill, J.J Twiggs, Sideouts Bar and Grill, Olive Garden and Bliss Wine.
