• Jacob M. Laurance, 18, of the 1000 block of Byron Lane, was arrested Wednesday and charged with retail theft, police records show. Laurance is accused of taking merchandise worth $550 from a store on the 800 block of South Randall Road on Feb. 15, police said. The items included a tent, canopy, air mattress and backpack. Laurance was identified via the store's video surveillance, police said. He appeared Thursday morning in Kane County bond court, where his bail was set at $15,000. He is next due in court March 13.
