A Streamwood man whom police described as a known gang member has been charged with criminal damage to property and battery, and he is being held for Immigration and Customs Enforcement after previously being deported to Mexico, according to police reports.

Salvador Espinoza, 21, of the 1500 block of Mckool Avenue, was arrested around 1:14 a.m. Feb. 11 on the 1300 block of Mckool.

According to reports, Espinoza and three other gang members in a Pontiac were chasing another vehicle, trying to catch a man Espinoza saw talking to a woman at a gas station on the 900 block of East Irving Park Road. Espinosa is accused of hurling a beer bottle that smashed the front passenger-side window and the windshield of the other vehicle, with glass hitting a female passenger, reports added. Espinoza was tracked through the license plate number on the Pontiac, reports said.
