Roselle Fireworks Campaign Deadline Nears

The first goal of a fundraising campaign that kicked off last fall in Roselle to restore the tradition of July 4 fireworks is rapidly approaching. The “Get a Bang for Your Buck” campaign timeline calls for $15,000 to be collected by March 15 in order to move forward with securing a vendor for this year's fireworks display. So far, $7,497.67 has been collected for the 2013 fireworks display.

If the $15,000 fundraising goal established for March 15 is not met, the 2013 fireworks display will be canceled and the collected funds will be used towards a 2014 fireworks donation campaign. The overall goal of the “Get a Bang for Your Buck” campaign is to raise $25,000 for the July 4, 2013, fireworks display.

Due to budget reductions, the July 4 fireworks display has not been in the Village's budget for the past three years. The tradition continued with generous sponsorships from community groups and businesses in 2010 and 2011. Without a sponsor for 2012, the display was canceled. The Bang for Your Buck campaign gives the community the chance to help bring July 4 fireworks back to Roselle.
