Hoffman Estates hosts Harriet Beecher Stowe program
In celebration of Black History Month, the Hoffman Estates Arts Commission is presenting a portrayal of Harriet Beecher Stowe in a program titled, “In Her Own Time.”
Joyce Huggins portrays Harriet Beecher Stowe, telling the struggles and triumphs of the American abolitionist, as well as what life was like before the Civil War.
The free event will take place at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 25, at village hall, 1900 Hassell Road. Light refreshments will be served after the presentation. For information, call Sue at (847) 781-2606, or visit herowntime.com.
