Fast Facts: Stevenson is one of the most intriguing teams in the north suburbs, led by one of the state's top sophomores in explosive guard Jalen Brunson. He's climbing the ranks nationally and has already visited several major Division I programs as his recruiting continues to heat up. Since dropping back-to-back games to Morgan Park and Oswego to finish fourth at the prestigious Proviso West tournament over the holidays, Stevenson has won 12 straight games and hasn't been seriously challenged in any of them. The Patriots avenged narrow NSC Lake losses to Warren and Zion-Benton in convincing fashion the second time around. They beat the Zee-Bees by 10 and dominated Warren 63-31 in January. The only team North Chicago couldn't beat on the NSC Prairie was Lakes, which toppled the Warhawks in both meetings this season. The Warhawks won 14 straight in between losses to Lakes and two straight since the second loss. They roll into this North Suburban Conference title game off of a 100-58 win over Round Lake. The Warhawks leading scorer Amos-Mays will miss the Stevenson game before returning for the playoffs. Both teams are No. 1 seeds in their respective sectionals, North Chicago in Class 3A and Stevenson in Class 4A.
