Des Plaines gas station robbed

Des Plaines police are investigating a robbery at the Shell gas station at 1605 S. River Road after an unknown amount of money was taken Thursday, Des Plaines Police Cmdr. Lou Wittmer said.

An unknown man entered the gas station and demanded cash from the employee at the register, according to the police report. The man took the cash and then fled, police said. Authorities did not divulge how much money was stolen and whether anyone was hurt during the robbery.
