Thanks, Wheaton's first responders

In the early hours of Wednesday Jan. 9, we suffered a fire in our home in Wheaton. The police and firemen of Wheaton responded very quickly to our 911 call, putting out the fire in a very short time.

We just want to thank the firemen and police, not only for their quick response and expertise in dealing with our situation, but in their compassionate and gracious care of us. We want to especially thank Deputy Fire Chief White and Fire investigator Mortenson.

Thanks also to Police Officer Sanchez and her team who responded to the call and were very helpful and efficient in dealing with the situation. We feel they really exemplified the motto we see on the Wheaton police cars: "To Protect and to Serve". We thank God that no one suffered any injuries.
