Island Lake officials will meet today to consider amending the town's rules so local residents who lease cars will have to buy vehicle stickers, too. The current rules specify people who own cars or have cars registered in their names must purchase stickers for their autos. It doesn't mention leases. The proposal comes about a week after mayoral candidate Charles Amrich was questioned at a public meeting about whether he owed the village a debt because he hadn't purchased stickers for cars he leased for his daughters but didn't personally drive. Amrich is challenging incumbent Debbie Herrmann for the mayor's chair. The meeting is set for 7:30 p.m. at village hall, 3720 Greenleaf Ave.
