Organ, marrow donations needed

February is Organ Donor Awareness month. Every year, thousands die waiting for an organ.

Sign your driver’s license, tell your family your wishes. Also, separate from organs is bone marrow. Thousands of children and adults die every day waiting for a bone marrow match.

This is unfortunate because anyone who is a match can save a life today! Patients from racially and ethnically diverse communities face a greater challenge in finding a donor.

Please, go to marrow.org and learn how a simple swab from your mouth could mean you being the match that saves a young life tomorrow. Don’t wait until something affects you to get involved.

Do this great deed; the most unselfish thing you can do is to save a life. If it were your kid dying while waiting for a match, wouldn’t you be thankful someone made that decision to get on the list?
