According to Kane County Sheriff's Lt. Patrick Gengler, Lorella Huff, 78, was driving a 1995 Toyota Camry north on Francis, and failed to stop at Route 38. She hit a box truck that was traveling west.

Huff was pronounced dead at the scene, Gengler said. The driver of the truck, 36-year-old Christopher Bynes of Roselle, was not injured.

Route 38 was closed between Meredith Road and Route 47 until 3:30 p.m. while the crash was investigated.

The crash scene is not far from Kaneland High School, but no high school students were involved, according to Gengler.
