• Levann D. Akins, 23, of the 100 block of Franklin Street, Elgin, was arrested at about 7:50 a.m. Thursday and charged with unlawful possession of a weapon/possession of a knife with intent to use it, according to a police report. He was arrested in the driveway of a residence on Franklin Street while holding a kitchen steak knife in a threatening manner. He appeared in Kane County bond court Friday morning, when his bail was set at $10,000. He is next due in court Feb. 8.
