A tow truck was set ablaze Jan. 17 in an apparent case of arson, Island Lake police announced. The fire, started by a road flare placed inside the truck, was discovered about 11 p.m. at a business on the 200 block of West State Road, police said. The truck was destroyed, and damage was estimated at more than $15,000, police said. Anyone with information about the fire can call Island Lake police detective Barry Huedepohl at (847) 526-2100.
