A Lake Zurich man is in custody after being charged with two counts of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child, according to a news release from the McHenry County sheriff's office.

Louis P. Hoerauf, 34, of the 23000 block of Field Road, was arrested Wednesday after police heard from two relatives who alleged being sexually assaulted by Hoerauf more than six years ago in Wonder Lake.

A 14-year-old boy said he was sexually assaulted by Hoerauf, formerly of Wonder Lake, when he was around the age of 6 or 7.

During the course of the investigation, which began in September 2012, members of the office's criminal investigations division heard from a second accuser, now 18, who said he was sexually assaulted by Hoerauf at age 6. The assaults occurred over a period of two years, the report said.

Hoerauf admitted to assaulting both victims during interviews with members of the sheriff's office, the report said. He is being held at the McHenry County jail on $100,000 bail. His next court date is Jan. 24.
