I still have hope that we can act like a civilized society and ban semiautomatic weapons. If you want to hunt, fine. If you feel you need a handgun to protect yourself and your home, go ahead. But nobody needs an automatic weapon, and I'm tired of the NRA pouring money into political races and claiming that if automatic weapons were banned, it would be a slippery slope. Enough!
If you're outraged, do something constructive: Contact your representative and senators and ask them to ban semiautomatic weapons.
