Wife took wedding vows to heart

“For better or for worse” Those are the wedding vows my sister and her husband took in 1962. They had two sons and a typical marriage until 1981 when her husband was paralyzed in a diving accident. At the time of his accident he was given five years to live, but with constant care from his wife and some help from a friend while she worked, he lived for 31 years. He passed away two weeks after their 50th wedding anniversary.

We often complain how difficult our marriage is not truly realizing how blessed we really are. My sister knew the meaning of “for better or for worse” and showed it through their marriage.
