It is important that we as a society not be misled by the tools used by the psychopathic murderer who slaughtered those 26 souls in a Connecticut school. His use of a noisy firearm alerted the school's exemplary staff to do exactly what they had trained and rehearsed to do in an emergency and saved more lives. He could have used a quiet club, garrote, baseball bat or other weapon to do the same atrocities.
