Johnson, 26, of the 0-99 block of Oxford Road in Carpentersville, was arrested Thursday and charged with misdemeanor endangering the health of a child and for contributing to the neglect of a child, police said. Johnson is accused of not letting her 8-year-old daughter inside their apartment and telling her to walk outside in the rain about 9 p.m., even though the apartment complex is known for violent crimes and drug activity, according to court records. If found guilty of one of the charges, she could spend up to a year in prison.
