SUV burst into flames:

Two men were injured early Thursday after the vehicle they were traveling in struck a guard rail and burst into flames. Lake County sheriff’s police said a black Mercedes SUV driven by Justin Schulze, 23, of Wildwood, was traveling east on Rollins Road, west of Route 45, about 3:15 a.m. It struck a guard rail, overturned and became engulfed in flames. Schulze and a passenger, John Bruhn, 29, address unknown, were able to get out of the vehicle but were taken to a hospital. Bruhn’s injuries included an amputated foot and broken ribs, sheriff’s police said. There was no information regarding Schulze. Water used to extinguish the blaze turned to ice and the road had to be salted. It reopened about 7:15 a.m. An investigation will continue to determine if there were contributing factors to the accident, police said.
