Crash closes Rte. 53 between Dundee, Palatine roads Wednesday morning
Southbound Route 53 was shut down for about an hour early Wednesday morning following an accident, authorities said.
District 2 Illinois State Police officials said the highway was closed between Dundee and Palatine roads at about 7:54 a.m. and reopened at about 8:51 a.m.
They would not give details of the crash, but said multiple cars were involved in the accident.
Injuries and cause of the crash are unknown at this time.
More information would be released later.
