According to the sheriff's office, the crash happened around 9 a.m. Smith was driving a Ford Expedition northbound through a curve, and began to spin out of control. The Expedition crossed the centerline and hit a southbound Honda Accord driven by a Batavia woman.

The Expedition then went off the road on the west side of Route 25 and flipped on to its roof.

The 60-year-old woman was taken to Delnor Hospital with non life-threatening injuries, according to Gengler.

The investigation is ongoing. Deputies don't know if speed, drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash, according to Gengler.

There were no passengers in either vehicle.
