County Assessors Discuss Property Taxes with Realtors' Group

Property tax experts from both Cook and Lake Counties explained the nuts and bolts of assessing real estate at a recent meeting of the North Shore Chapter of the Women's Council of Realtors.

Speaker Robert L. Kruse has been the Chief Deputy Assessor for the office of the Cook County Assessor since 2010. Speaker Martin P. Paulson, the Lake County Chief County Assessment Officer, has been with the Assessor's office since 1997.

The speakers' remarks included a discussion of the similarities and differences in the two counties' approaches to assessing residential real estate.

The luncheon meeting took place at Maggiano's Restaurant in Skokie.

WCR is a national organization providing educational programs, business tools, and networking and leadership development opportunities for real estate professionals and others working in the real estate field such as attorneys, lenders, title companies, interior designers and stagers. The North Shore Chapter meets at various north suburban venues on the second Thursday of each month.
