God has been forgotten

Reflecting on the horror that took place at the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Connecticut brought me to the words of Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn: “Men have forgotten God; that’s why all this has happened.” Solzhenitsyn was referring to the horrors he witnessed under what he referred to as “the ruinous Revolution that swallowed up some 60 million of our people.” That revolution was a socialist system of government coupled with the replacement of God with the state: communism. Every day in this country we go further down the same path yet we continue to ask, How could all this happen? I could not put it more accurately than to repeat: “Men have forgotten God; that’s why all this has happened.”
