Here’s my theory. The Mayan calendar maker went to his boss and told him that he had reached Dec. 21, 2012, but had run out of room. The shaman said, “We don’t have enough in the budget for any more stone disks, but not to worry, that’s over 5,000 years from now. Who’s going to notice?”
