West Chicago's Royal Polish Nail Salon Wins Frosty Fest's People's Choice Award for Best-Dressed Holiday Window

West Chicago, Illinois: December 17, 2012 – Downtown businesses across Chicagoland have decked their halls with holiday lights and greenery, but one business in downtown West Chicago was voted the People's Choice winner in the Frosty Fest Window Decorating Contest because of an added dose of “sweet whimsy”.

Royal Polish Nail Salon, at 116 Galena Street, went all out in decorating their storefront in a candy theme, creating a nostalgic display that looked good enough to eat. Gumdrops, lollipops and the candy dots that pull off paper were just some of the representations in the festive vignette.

This was the second year for the contest which was developed to connect the business community with the greater community of residents and visitors to the downtown. Participation by Mid City Restaurant, St. Vincent DePaul Thrift Shop, El Coco Loco, T.J. Maintenance, Casa Rios Bridal Boutique, Paleteria Rosy Ice Cream, Imprenta Graphics Studio and Royal Polish definitely added to the warm and welcoming atmosphere for the thousands circulating downtown during the City's special event. City spokesperson Rosemary Mackey expressed appreciation for their effort, “The City wishes to thank each and every one of the businesses for the time and investment it took to create the amazing window displays,” she said. Pictures of all the participating businesses and all the excitement of the seasonal festival are contained in a slideshow available on the City's website.

More About the Winning Business:

Royal Polish Nail Salon has developed a loyal following in the three years since opening its doors. The business offers natural nail services, manicures, pedicures, gel polish (no-chip), enhancements of gel and acrylic, waxing, eyelash application and glitter tattoos.

Owner and licensed cosmologist Kristin Ramirez is a Master Pedicurist with certification in infection control. She has been active in the beauty industry since June 2000. Her commitment to ensuring high quality, premium services at reasonable prices is one of the reasons for her success. “I use single-use files, buffers, cuticle pushers, toe separators and pedi slippers that are thrown away after each use. All stainless steel implements are completely sanitized, disinfected and sterilized. Pedicure tubs are always thoroughly cleaned and disinfected after each use, so my clients feel safe and relaxed,” she said.

Ramirez grew up in West Chicago, and she and her family have remained in the community. She credits a supportive family, friends and clients with Royal Polish Nail Salon's success. “We chose West Chicago to open the business because we wanted to be a part of the growth and development of the city,” she said.
