The Round Lake Beach village board this week approved a tax levy, the amount to be collected in taxes in 2013, that is virtually the same as those adopted the past two years. The total levy of just over $2.4 million includes: $874,360 for village operations and services; $154,474 for police protection; $325,000 for liability insurance; and, $90,000 for employee pensions; and $930,666 for police pensions. Village officials said the property tax rate won't be determined until April when values of properties are released but the rate is expected to increase slightly compared to that in 2011.
