Happy with your endorsement?

While I was shocked at your endorsement Mitt Romney for president (whatever happened to “character counts”?), I was absolutely stunned that you would double down on Peter Roskam. This is absolutely the worst Congress in history, accomplishing about 20 percent as much as the relatively industrious “do-nothing Congress” of 1947-48.

Who should bear the blame for that if not the leadership? You have continually expressed concerns about his being too conservative on social issues, yet continue to endorse him even though that has been the only area where the GOP seems to have any interest in passing legislation.

Please show me one, just one, vote where he has gone against this party and that vote made a difference. The GOP votes as a block, hence the moniker “dittoheads,” and only go against the grain when they have permission from above. They don’t get that permission unless their vote won’t matter.

A vote for any Republican who goes to Washington is a vote for gridlock. It will continue that wait until they are spanked over and over until they get the message. And it had better be soon, or they will cease to exist as a meaningful alternative.

Meanwhile, they are going to take us over the fiscal cliff to try and preserve low taxes for millionaires and billionaires. I hope you are happy with your endorsement.
