Graham, McCain are hypocrites

GOP Senators Lindsey Graham and John McCain are demonstrating clear hypocrisy be trying to pre-empt the president's nomination of Susan Rice to replace Hillary Clinton as Secretary of State. They criticize her from going on Sunday talk shows to provide the first explanation of the terrorist attack in Benghazi that resulted in four deaths at the U.S. Consulate, including Ambassador Chris Stevens.

They claim that she misled Congress and the American people by reading talking points supplied to her by the CIA. Of course, they are referring to some sinister cover-up or conspiracy behind her remarks. I guess, next, they will be asking for her birth certificate.

First, the U.N. Ambassador, Susan Rice, is not responsible for the security at our embassies. Second, she stated that a clearer picture of what happened would emerge as the CIA and FBI investigated further on the scene in Libya. Third, both Congressional and administration investigations are under way and will reveal specific details and recommendations on how better to protect our embassies. And, finally, she has not been officially nominated for the position of Secretary of State.

Both her Republican critics in the Senate were the ones advocating that President Bush invade Iraq based on bogus intelligence information. But, I guess misleading the American public about the need to go to war in Iraq does not disqualify Graham and McCain from blasting Susan Rice over a few talking points. Further, their support for Condoleezza Rice as Bush's Secretary State, after her lies about Iraq, should bring their judgment into serious question.

Senators Graham and McCain only care about advancing the right-wing GOP agenda and further obstructing President Obama. What hypocrisy for two worthless GOP senators.
