Fremont students collect items for troops

Students in a social studies class at Fremont Middle School collected household items for a group of Illinois National Guard soldiers serving in Afghanistan, school officials announced. The class collected more than 2,455 items, including snacks, toothbrushes, shaving cream and coffee. The items have been mailed to the troops.
