Batavia

• Jason A. Carter, 35, of the 1300 block of Shoop Drive, was charged with battery at 10:36 p.m. Saturday, according to Batavia police. He is accused of hitting someone from behind at River and Wilson streets.

• Leonel Diaz, 41, off the 400 block of Hastings Street in Elgin, was charged with felony burglary and theft, according to a police report. Batavia police say he stole scrap metal Nov. 12 from Tek Pak, 1336 Paramount Parkway. He was arrested Nov. 15.

• Two women have been accused of stealing money from Garver Feeds, 1005 Paramount Parkway, police said. According to Kane County court records, Eileen Lally, 50, of the 500 block of Union Street in Batavia, stole $14,720.87 by writing unauthorized checks. Patricia Budzinski, 48, of the 1600 block of Valley Forge Court in Wheaton, stole $6,584.98, according to court documents. Lally was charged with felony theft by deception and theft by exerting unauthorized control Nov. 27; she appeared in court Thursday and is free on bond. Budzinski was charged with felony theft and has yet to appear in court. The thefts occurred in March and September, according to court records.
