Around 2 a.m. on Wednesday, a 21-year-old man was stabbed twice in the abdomen in the McDonald's parking lot at 653 S. Rand Road, according to a statement released by Lake Zurich police Cmdr. David Bradstreet.

The victim was taken to Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital near Lake Barrington.

Following the stabbing, Bradstreet had said that the attack appeared to be random and the result of some kind of altercation in the parking lot.

Police are still investigating the case.
