‘Gap year’ could help for college

text size: AAA

I believe that all high school graduates should be encouraged to take a gap year. If you're not aware of this, a gap year is when a high school graduate takes a year off schooling before entering college.

Many people argue that the high school graduate most likely will not want to go to college after experiencing the gap year. But I argue against that point. I believe a high school graduate will mature and learn to be more independent during the year off.

I often hear of people not being able to go to college because of money issues. The gap year can fix that problem. It will allow the high school graduate to earn and save money over a full year and this money will help pay for college.
