Daily Herald report

Round Lake Park police say they executed search warrants in a neighboring village Friday and arrested two men as part of the continuing Operation Street Sweep. Officers went to a home in the 1500 block of Round Lake Drive in Round Lake Beach and seized John McQuarter, 26, and Lucas McKoop, 21. McQuarter was charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Police said McQuarter had 43 grams of pot and 10 grams of cocaine valued at $1,780. Authorities said they seized $3,433 in cash believed to have been gained through illegal means. McKoop was taken into custody on an active arrest warrant for failure to appear in court on a retail theft case, according to police. Police say they have been working with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security for several months on Operation Street Sweep.
