Dogs have no place on school grounds

As a resident in the Algonquin community, dogs on school properties in Algonquin is a big concern. Each and every day as I patiently way for my daughter to be dismissed from school, I've witnessed where dogs have jumped and licked students. However, I've noticed that the school officials do not enforce their policies because the dogs are on a leash.

Therefore, dogs should not be allowed on school properties in Algonquin even if they're on a leash. Dogs on school property raise a safety concern because dogs are unpredictable; there's no way to determine if a dog will attack a student or a staff member. Some students and staff members are genuinely frightened of dogs and besides the safety concern, dog owners are unaware of some potential health concerns that students as well as staff members may have — asthma, allergies or any other health-related conditions.

Dog owners tend to not have any consideration for others with their dogs.
