Village of Lombard Reminds Residents and Businesses to Recycle This Holiday Season
• Recycle holiday lights at the Public Works building, 1051 S. Hammerschmidt. A collection barrel is accessible 24/7 through January 7 near the front door.
• Place your holiday tree on your regular waste collection day between December 31 and January 11. No sticker is needed and Waste Management will grind it for composting. All lights, garland and ornaments must be removed.
• Recycle your old electronics. York Township maintains an electronics collection during working hours at their Highway Department facility on Roosevelt Road across from McDonalds. The Village will resume its monthly collections starting the first Saturday in April.
• Give yourself the present of a $49 home energy audit and save thousands of dollars over the life of your home. The Energy Impact Illinois program is an alliance of government, utilities and non-profit groups and funded through the “Energy Efficiency Programs” line item on your utility bills. More information is at energyimpact.org and 1-855-9-IMPACT. The representative for Lombard is Matt Elmore, matt@energyimpactillinois.org or at (503) 333-5578.
